Really made the difference in comfort with my knee scooter. The recovery boot has an air valve at the front top where my shin bone is and I could not use the knee scooter until I got this pad/cushion. I specifically needed the gel pad vs a memory foam so that the pad would give way to the air valve and make the scooter more comfortable.
